Twin Burrow Members to Represent Australia in Oztag

South Sydney Rabbitohs Burrow Members and twin sisters Samantha and Stacey Weiss, have been selected to represent Australia in the under 18s Oztag team to play in New Zealand this September.

The Botany residents and huge Rabbitohs fans have played Oztag since eight years of age, representing Souths in the State Cup.

But the girls sporting prowess doesnt end there, having also played Rugby League for the Botany Rams in the Souths Juniors competition until the age of 12.

Samantha and Staceys Australian selection comes hot on the heels of being selected to play their first Origin game for New South Wales, helping the side to come away with a win against Queensland.

Brigitte, the girls mother, who is also a Burrow Member, is proud to have both her girls playing for their country.

They have been playing Oztag since they were 8. To have them both now play for Australia together is a great achievement, said the proud mother.

For the twins themselves, the reality of being selected for the team is a reward for their hard work.

It feels amazing to represent my country in a sport I train hard for and also love and enjoy, says Stacey.

The girls also credit their success to the inspiration they have felt watching the Rabbitohs performances so far in 2013.

I've been a Rabbitohs supporter all my life. I'm very proud of the boys and how hard they train, it shows in their performance on the field and makes me want to be the best I can be in my game, added Samantha.

The girls will represent Australia from the 26th to the 30th of September in New Zealand.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs would like to congratulate both Samantha and Stacey on their achievement, and wish them all the best for their coming tour.
