Rabbitohs under 20s player Alex Johnston bagged a double for the Blues in last nights under 18s Origin curtain-raiser, on the way to New South Wales beating Queensland 56-6 at Suncorp Stadium.

Johnstons Blues ran riot over the home side, running in 11 tries, with Dallin Watene Zelezniak grabbing a hat-trick, while Sione MataUtia and Jackson Hastings also managed doubles.

The Blues were quick to get off the mark with Sione MataUtia racing in for two tries in the first five minutes of play, and the onslaught continued with Michael Morgan and Watene-Zelezniak also touching down before the games 20 minute mark.

After a wonderful passage of play from Jackson Hastings scored before kicking for Watene-Zelezniak who touched down for his second to take the teams in to the sheds ahead 28-6.

On the resumption, the Blues went on with the job with hooker Zac Dockar-Clay crashing over, signalling the beginning of another points avalanche.

From the ensuing set of six, Jackson Bird split the Queensland defence through the middle to link up with Alex Johnston to score.

Morgan and Watene-Zelezniak crossed for tries before full-time to round out the victory, with coach Todd Payten surprised by his teams performance.

I wasnt expecting that at all, Payten said.

Im over the moon. I thought we were physically dominant and Im really pleased that we had 17 contributors out there tonight.

We had a really great week and the players really knuckled down when they needed to and its a credit to them to get the result.
