Cairns home of Rugby League, Barlow Park, is gearing up for Sundays Rumble at the Reef NRL clash between the first-placed South Sydney Rabbitohs and fifth-placed Gold Coast Titans, with all new seating and coachs boxes highlighting the infrastructure improvements that have been built for the match and the local Cairns community.

A brand new, temporary grandstand called the Tryzone has been set up at one end of Barlow Park, increasing capacity at the ground to 18,000 to enable as many Rugby League fans in Cairns and surrounding areas to join in the action on Sunday.

The Falcon Deck corporate hospitality area is near completion, a facility which will be hosted by one of the Rabbitohs most inspirational captains and media personality, Mario Fenech. The Falcon Deck will provide patrons one of the best viewing positions for Sundays game.

Brand new coachs boxes have been built on the roof of the existing Barlow Park grandstand, becoming permanent fixtures provided and installed by the Cairns Regional Council to improve the facilities for existing and visiting teams that will play out of the home of Rugby League in Cairns.

Other game day features such as the grounds big screen, Fox Sports broadcast equipment, merchandise outlets, food and beverage concession stands and advertising hoardings will be bumped into the venue up until Saturday when Barlow Park will be fully decked out in time for Sundays huge sporting event.

Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson was on hand at Barlow Park in Cairns today to check out the progress of the works at the ground and to promote the round 14 competition match.

Its all happening here at Barlow Park and anyone interested in Rugby League or sport in general from Cairns and the surrounding areas should definitely be getting their tickets now, Mr Richardson said.

Weve worked closely with Tourism and Events Queensland to bring the team up here, as we will for the next three years.

Weve worked closely with the Cairns Regional Council to build the coachs boxes and promote the event and Cairns as a tourist destination.

Were working very closely with the Cairns District Rugby League and the Northern Pride to put on a great event for the people of Cairns, and were supporting the local Rugby League organisations with proceeds from every ticket going back to the CDRL and the Pride.

Were also working closely with the Cairns Chamber of Commerce to ensure local businesses can enjoy this event and play a part in bringing the NRL back to town.

These brand new seating areas, called the Tryzone, have increased the capacity to 18,000 so we can accommodate many more Rugby League and sports fans this Sunday than you normally could at Barlow Park.

There are plenty of great seats and tickets available across the Tryzone seats, the Falcon Deck and general admission tickets, but fans should pre-purchase their tickets to avoid queuing on Sunday.

Its really exciting to be bringing our team with the likes of Greg Inglis, Sam Burgess, Issac Luke, Ben Teo, John Sutton, Adam Reynolds and Chris McQueen to Cairns and hopefully the people of Cairns can show their excitement by pre-purchasing their tickets for this game and filling the ground for what will be a great day out for the whole family.

Rabbitohs players will also be available for a meet and greet signing session at Fogarty Park on The Esplanade on Sunday night from 7-8pm so Rugby League fans can meet their heroes after the match.

Players will also be heading to local schools and hospitals on Monday morning to engage with the community and help promote Rugby League in the local area.

Great seats and general admission tickets are still available to this match by visiting www.ticketscairns.com.au, by calling (07) 4053 8333 or by heading to Brothers Leagues Club in Cairns. Tickets for adults start at $30 with kids tickets starting at $15 and family passes starting at $80.
