Its OK, its OK, I promise!

Our second loss of the year wasnt a pretty sight. A Monday night away game in the rain. All odds were against us on the night, and we only lost by two.

We gave away far too many penalties and the referee was whistle happy but it was a loss we can handle.

You cant win every week and Id much rather get our loss out of the way to the Sharks than to you know who!

Let's not forget, we are still on top of the table.

We can take this one as a learning experience and look to the Knights clash.

It will be an interesting game. With the Origin stars out and that unfamiliar feeling of not taking last week's two points, will our boys fire up?

I know one man who will - Nathan Merritt.

The most solid and reliable winger in the game who can slot into fullback easily doesnt get called up to the Blues, so I am backing him for a blinder against Newcastle.

Newcastle are not an easy feat, even though our line up without some of our stars is still very good, but their stats are not too shady.

They are fifth on the table and have beaten a fair amount of their opposition by big scores. They know where the try line is BUT our defence is great this season so this is what I hope to see continue.

Let's get back to Nathan Merritt.

If the Blues dont want the man who was the year's leading try scorer in a team that came last, who can kick a winning field goal from the sideline and can score eight tries within eight days then I am happy to have him lining up for my team.

This season he has had three hat tricks and is on 11 tries after 11 rounds. He will be hard to beat for leading try scorer.

He uses every touch of the ball he has to gain advantage and protects his line with all his might. He has been a clear front runner as one of our best every season in which he has worn the Red and Green.

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Chris McQueen who I adore as a player.

He has been my favourite for a while now and it is about time Origin selectors have backed a player like the QLD selectors have done with Chris.

Inglis was a 'gimme' and Teo is an rising star who deserves his spot, but Chris came from nowhere to grab this spot and pride is an understatement when thinking of his achievements so far in his career.

I wont be fond of him when he takes the field in that Maroon jersey as I am a proud NSW supporter, but I am proud of him to be there.

He will soon be known as 'Chris McQueenslander'.

The Blues will soon see how well the Maroon Rabbitohs play and will be kicking themselves for not choosing any for their original team last Sunday night.

Finally though, the best news of the week was John Sutton being named in the NSW team. What a turn around in this man's career!

His attack is nothing less than brilliant, so much so that his opposition have to try and knock him out to keep him from breaking their line.

I am so impressed with his efforts this season and he looks so comfortable in his plays that my confidence grows more and more with him at the helm.

He has only missed 8% of his tackles too.

What a man to have wearing your number 6! Having the chance to show his improvements on the big stage is such an honour and I hope he shines as bright in Blue as he does in Red and Green.

I look at our team this year and there are a few who I would have had in the running for a Blues jersey, Reynolds being one. We are flying high and get to keep them in our jersey and that is only going to help us strive for the Premiership.

Lucky folk we are, especially having a few good Kiwis and Poms who unable to be selected.

I am a big fan of Origin, but I am also happy that we wont see many more of our players taken away from our Mighty 2013 squad. So when we take on Newcastle, we will be ready, we wont want to see another two points leave our hands, so its game on.

In front on the table by one point, its time to extend that lead.

I am looking forward to this game, because I look forward to seeing how we recover from a loss. We do this right, and we shine that spotlight back on the big prize.

Turn up your voice box Members, were on the hunt for some Novacastrians.

Bring it on.
