Sutton Called Into NSW Blues State of Origin Squad

Rabbitohs five-eighth John Sutton has been called into the New South Wales Blues camp for State of Origin I to be played at the Rabbitohs home ground of ANZ Stadium on Wednesday 5 June.


Sutton is one of two players being called into the squad to cover for Kurt Gidley was ruled out yesterday with a foot injury. Josh Reynolds from the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs is the other player that has been called into the camp.


Sutton could come up against fellow Rabbitohs Greg Inglis, Ben Te'o and Chris McQueen who have all been selected for the Queensland Maroons for game one.


The Blues will have an 18-man squad in camp in the lead up to the first game of the State of Origin series, with Coach Laurie Daley set to make a decision on his final side closer to the game.
