The Rabbitohs are saddened to hear of the loss of Rabbitohs Member Cheryl Owen, a Foundation Member who has supported the Club since before reinstatement back into the competition in 2002.

Cheryl, her husband John and their son Matthew sat in bay 130-1 each week to passionately cheer on their beloved team together with other members of the family who are also avid Rabbitohs supporters and Members. After Cheryls passing, her family decided to honour her in the best possible way, by creating a cover that they will place over Cheryls seat at some of the remaining Rabbitohs home games at ANZ Stadium this season.

John and Matthew unveiled this commemoration to Cheryl at the Rabbitohs v Storm game, where Rabbitohs players Luke Burgess and Luke Keary paid them a visit.

They have also stated that if we make the Grand Final they will be buying a seat in Cheryls honour and will bring the seat cover with them so that it feels like Cheryl is a part of it as well.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs offer their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Cheryl Owen and encourage all Rabbitohs Members to keep an eye out for this beautiful seat cover at the next Rabbitohs home game.
