The South Sydney under 16s Harold Matthews Cup side has won its way through to the Preliminary Finals with an emphatic 42 points to 12 victory over Newcastle at the Suttons South Sydney High Performance Centre today (Saturday)

The Rabbitohs dominated throughout the match, leading 24-6 at the break, and going to register seven tries in total for the match.

Hooker John Neil, lock Nat Butcher and centre Siosifa Talakai were strong for the boys in red and green.

The under 16s will enjoy a week off before playing for a spot in the NSWRL Harold Matthews Cup Grand Final in a fortnights time.

The South Sydney under 18s SG Ball Cup side went down to the St George Dragons 42 points to 6 in their Qualifying Final, being outmuscled up front and very loose with their ball handling throughout the match.
