Joint Support Program

NSW Department of Juvenile Justice partners with non-Government organisations to deliver the Joint Support Program (JSP). The JSP was developed to promote collaboration between the two sectors with the objective of reducing recidivism among young offenders.

The costs of keeping one young person in custody for 12 months in NSW is more than $210,000 and as a result, resources are increasingly being directed towards community programs such as the JSP.

Under the JSP, Souths Cares provides job readiness training, employment placement and mentoring services in partnership with Fairfield Juvenile Justice.
