Souths Cares Inspires Banksmeadow Public School Students

Beau Champion and Souths Cares spent time at Banksmeadow Public School to educate students on the effects of bullying and how to handle bullies through KARI's Wellbeing Program!

Champion was joined by the new General Manager of Souths Cares, Cain Slater, to help spread these messages to the first of 16 schools the team will visit.

"Engaging. Relevant. Practical. These three words accurately describe the Souths Cares program in 2017," said Mr Brendan Murphy, assistant principal at Banksmeadow Public School.

"As an educator, I care passionately about bullying prevention, and I am thrilled to see such an outstanding program, at no cost, that covers bullying from the schoolyard to the wider community.

"Through the use of role model accounts, students were exposed to real life, relevant situations and what strategies to use to combat the ever growing concerns of bullying. The information gained from this program is syllabus specific and topical for the children.

"It encouraged them to really think about what bullying looks and feels like, as well as, the effects that bullying has on everyone.  I strongly urge teachers and administrators to enroll in this worthwhile program."
