Souths Cares is delighted to announce the appointment of Cain Slater as General Manager of the organisation.
Mr Slater is an experienced sport and not-for-profit leader and executive. Cain has worked at and led a range of local and nationally focused organisations that utilise sport as an engagement tool for social impact.
Mr Slater replaces outgoing General Manager, Brock Schaefer, who has moved to the South Sydney Rabbitohs Football Club as Manager – Football Operations and Player Wellbeing.
Souths Cares Chairperson - the Hon. Kristina Keneally - was delighted to welcome Cain to Souths Cares.
"Cain brings to Souths Cares a unique mix of experience and knowledge, including using the power of sport to change the lives of young people, demonstrated skills in leading organisations and an entrepreneurial spirit that will seek out new opportunities to take our organisation to the next level," said Chairperson Keneally.
"The Board looks forward to working with him."
Mr Slater is looking forward to the opportunity to grow the social impact of Souths Cares.
"I am passionate about joining an excellent team at Souths Cares who have achieved exceptional results in employment, education, health and youth engagement during the past ten years," said Mr Slater.
"The opportunity to lead this team and engage our Rabbitohs community in their charity is an honour, and I look forward to announcing new exciting youth engagement programs in the future.
"I would like to extend my thanks to the sponsors and donors who have supported Souths Cares over the past ten years. Without the support of the community, the amazing work Souths Cares has conducted would not be possible."
Mr Slater will commence in his role in March.
