Top Moments of 2012 - #3

Newcastle always play well on 'Old Boys Day' and the Rabbitohs were under pressure to retain their top four spot in the final round of the regular season.

With the Rabbitohs leading 12-6 at the break, the Knights had a chance to level the scores early in the second half when Akuila Uate received a wide ball from Dane Gagai which put him in the clear.

With just Inglis chasing across in cover, the odds were stacked against the Rabbitohs fullback as Uate steamed towards the line.

Not only did Inglis force enough contact to halt Uate, he managed a one handed strip and tapped the ball back to Merritt preventing a Knights scrum, leaving Channel Nine commentator Phil Gould to say: "I don't think there's another fullback in the game (who) could have stopped Uate there!"
