Rabbitohs Spreading Christmas Cheer at Redfern Community Centre Christmas Party
Monday 17 December 2012 10:12 AM
On Thursday 13 December, Redfern Community Centre along with City of Sydney and other local organisations held their annual Redfern Community Centre Christmas Party.
More than 200 local children and their parents were present along with Rabbitohs players and coaching staff including Redfern local Nathan Merritt, Greg Inglis, Ben Te'o, Jeff Lima, Dylan Farrell and Sean Edwards, plus Souths Cares staff Rebecca Edwards, Kiara Maza and John Hutchinson.
The players mingled with everyone getting photos taken and signing autographs whilst taking part in the many fun activities.
It was a great afternoon with lots of organised events including a live band, display and food stalls, and Santa made an appearance to hand out Christmas presents.
Through a contribution from One Community towards the Christmas Party, Souths Cares was able to purchase a small gift for every child who attended.
Also, through the generosity of our Members, Souths Cares was able to donate Bunny Buddy packs to be handed out to the children at the event.
Souths Cares would like to send out a big thank you to Kristina Karasulas, Culture and Development Manager; and Julia Medley, Redfern Community Centre; who organised the event and made us feel very welcome on the day.
It was great to be able to connect with our local community in this way and from all of us at the Rabbitohs and Souths Cares we wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and holiday period.
