Inglis: We Need to Step Up a Gear

Rabbitohs fullback Greg Inglis has cited that his team needs to step up a gear if they’re to be any chance of progressing deeper into this year’s play-offs, the Test star using the team’s last game against Melbourne as the prime example.
“We just have to step it up another gear,” said Inglis.
“We did against Melbourne, but in this case we don’t know who we’re going to play and it is Finals footy.
“Everyone’s got to be hungrier and we just have to step it up a gear. To be honest we can improve in all areas but what won us the game on the weekend was our defence and our willingness to work for each other, so we’ve got to keep that up and like I said, turn it up a notch.”
But Inglis has no doubt that the side will be able to produce a top-notch performance in the coming weeks with the likes of Rabbitohs fans everywhere throwing their support behind the side so readily.
“Especially in my time here, I’ve felt the warmth and open arms and they’ve been nothing but exceptional the fans, week in and week out.
“It’s terrific to run out there knowing that your fans are right there behind you, and as a player, seeing the Burrow and the rest of the fans out there – it gives you a bit of a thrill and like I said makes you want to perform.”
