JT told me on Monday that I was going to play number seven. There has been a bit of discussion about it amongst fans and some negative reaction and I think that is a bit old schoolish. These days most sides play with a left side half and a right side half and I’ll just be playing left side half as I always have – that’s not going to change.
It’s going to be a bigger change for John Sutton but he has played there before and I’m sure he is up to it.
In the last couple of weeks we have gone away from what we planned to do. Up 12-0 against the ‘Dogs just before halftime we were in a good position. When the Bulldogs scored just before the halftime break I remember saying to the boys ‘we should be up 20-0. We just need to forget about this out and come out in the second half like we have for most of the first’. Instead we let a try in soon after halftime and things went downhill from there.
This week at training we have emphasised more on sticking to what we want to do. JT has put a bit on my shoulders and said I have to stand up and do more and I think he’s right. I just have to be more dominant and steer the team around.I also have to make sure I get out and do what I usually do and organize the middle guys a bit more and concentrate on holding up my edge.
People are saying we are in trouble but it is only round three of 26 rounds, we are far from crisis talks.
I’m really looking forward to playing at Penrith this week, a place where I have played a lot of football in my time with Penrith. Obviously I always want to go back there and have a good game because it is my old club. I enjoy playing there and always seem to have a good game there so hopefully that will happen again.
A win would be a great result and I wouldn’t mind a try either.
