Asotasi will be aiming to bounce back from a serious hand and wrist injury that curtailed his 2011 season. Asotasi has been one of the leaders at the Rabbitohs since joining the Club in 2007, having captained the side since midway through that season. Asotasi is a keen motorcyclist and also became a father for the first time in late 2011.
