Reggie Rabbit is one of the oldest and most-loved mascots in the NRL.
Reggie Rabbit first made an appearance at a South Sydney game in 1952, before becoming a permanent Member of the team in 1967. Reggie inspired the ’67 Rabbitohs to a premiership victory, and was also on hand to fire up the South Sydney faithful at the ’68, ’69, ’70 and ’71 grand finals, the team winning four premierships in five years. It’s believed that Reggie’s acrobatic displays on the sideline fired the team up to win those games!
Reggie has had a few mates join him over the years with Rossco Rabbit taking to the field during the 1970s, as well as Charlie Rabbit who joined Reggie when the Rabbitohs were re-instated to the competition in 2002.
Reggie also has some profile friends including Bugs Bunny, Jessica Rabbit, DKOR (Different King of Rabbit) and Snoop Dogg!
You can find Reggie doing the rounds of the perimeter fence at ANZ Stadium at all Rabbitohs home games, saying hi to the kids and posing for photos (he likes to show off his big muscles!) You will also find Reggie doing regular visits to the hospitals in Sydney, bringing a smile to the faces of sick kids right across the city.
Reggie has become a Club icon at South Sydney and is a valued member of the team.
In 2009, Reggie Rabbit is proudly sponsored by Galaxy World.
