Together, the South Sydney Football Club and Souths Cares handles player, mascot and coach appearance requests for charity and community events.
Due to the sheer volume of requests for player appearances the Club focuses on providing players for meaningful and sustainable activity rather than one-off events and therefore the vast majority of appearances are taken up as part of the Club’s ongoing community programs through Souths Cares.
Outside of these programs players are available for a limited number of appearances depending on the time of year requests are made.
Player Request Guidelines:
In order to request a player, you must include the following information:
* Organisation
* Event name
* Event date
* Start and finish time
* Event description
* Anticipated number of people at the event
* Specific purpose of players
* Estimated drive time from Redfern
* Contact person
* Telephone number
* Email
It is highly recommended that your event does not centre on the anticipation of an appearance but should be approached as a complimentary element to your program.
Requests need to be received at least 6-8 weeks prior to the event to be considered. The status of your request may not be known until the week of your event due to the release of training schedules.
Personal requests for birthdays, family hospital visits, weddings, funerals etc are NOT accepted by the Club.
All requests for player appearances are to be in writing on organisation letterhead and forwarded to:

Email or phoned requests will not be considered.
Many requests are unable to be filled due to the overwhelming amount of requests received weekly. Please submit your request only once and by only one medium.
Availability:
South Sydney players are unavailable for appearances:
* During their off season (which is defined as the day following the last game played and the beginning of pre season training)
* The team’s bye weekends each season
* The team’s days off during the week
* Match day (the only players available on match day and day preceding would be injured players)
Please note:
* The club does not accept responsibility where a confirmed appearance is cancelled at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately last-minute changes to training/meeting schedules do occur from time-to-time.
* The club does not accept responsibility where a confirmed appearance is cancelled at short notice due to player injury or illness. Due to the nature of the football business this can occur occasionally.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs would like to discourage organisations making follow up phone calls due to the overwhelming number of requests that are submitted.
