Rabbitohs Return to Training
03 Nov 2008

The South Sydney Rabbitohs' squad returned to training today, the 2009 season officially starting for the Club with a profiling session.
Rabbitohs players including captain Roy Asotasi, Chris Sandow, John Sutton and Nathan Merritt were joined by new recruits Rhys Wesser, Colin Best, Kane Cleal and Chris McQueen and the rest of their team mates who weren't involved in the World Cup or World Cup train-on squads. Players were taken through a profiling session which will continue tomorrow, before the pre-season schedule kicks off on Thursday.
"We were profiling the players aerobic capacity, core strength and flexibility today, with more profiling and testing to come tomorrow," Rabbitohs Strength and Conditioning Coach Vince Kelly told www.rabbitohs.com.au.
"Today's session will show what sort of base we are working from with each player, give us our first assessment of our new and returning players, and gives us an understanding of their functional ability before we begin the pre-season training schedule.
"Basically, we will know where everyone's fitness sits after these profiling sessions, and then we can work on the players' individual training regimes."
